Post-Christmas puking!!

Hope you've had a good Christmas and are recovering well and are well under way with your New Year's party plans. We're hosting a bit of a bash for maybe 15 people or so at our house. It's a great party house and we love it!!

Silje has been doing some post-Christmas puking today so i've sent her to bed where she's reading 'Mother & Baby' magazine and eating toast. Meanwhile, I've felt so stuffed from Christmas food that i went for a run this morning...probably the first time I've done that in about 6 months. Feels great to get out again in the fresh air and run along the canal, with a slight (very, very slight!) sprinkling of snow. WIll try and do that much more in the New Year.

Toby & Eliot's 'God Jul' mugs from the Erlandsens!

Outrageously cute!

A 'God Jul' special for the Erlandsens!

Greetings to you all in Bergen. Here's a few pics from our happy Christmas Day - including a few pressies we are very grateful for and a special message from Neil!!

A very grown up message from Neil, I'm sure you'll agree.

Silje says very little, she's too busy munching!! Hmm, sour candies....

Howes bump says, "Hei Hei"

Nick says, "Tusen Takk for my boots! They are great"

Maybe some more pics later today, we're still learning and playing with our new digital camera.
Speak to you soon,

Love Nick & Silje

Happy Christmas...or God jul (if you're Norwegian)!!!

Hope you've had a great day. We are down south, staying at my mum's and going over this afternoon for the whole Crispy Mouse shebang at my sister Moira's house.

We'll be staying down this way until 27th, when we'll head back to sunny Cov. OK, now bring on the pressies...

Enjoying the season

Hey, guess what? Did you notice it was getting near to Christmas? I can be sure of this by the fact that Asda supermarket has gone COMPLETELY CRAZY and going at anytime other than 3am is a total nightmare!

Well, in the Howes House things are moving nicely towards the festive season, although there is a little sense of strange anticipation, cos we're not really sure what's gonna happen. The baby is due on 7th January, but officially has already gone 'full term' so we could be popping any day I guess. I don't think that will happen, but we've got the bag packed just in case.

So, just to keep the NIck & Silje tradition of completely overshadowing Christmas with other major life events, this year we thought a baby would be a good option after a wedding last year. We're short on ideas for next year, so please send us any suggestions.

We're planning to be 'dan sarrff' from 23rd though until 27th Dec, having Crimby Day with Moira & Neil, with Mum & the nephews etc, but look forward to seeing other relatives and friends (yeah, you Rich & Lou - moving to live by the Sea, near Southampton, not at all jealous and altogether pleased for you)!!

Hope you are well. Enjoy the rest of the shopping! Hey, we got some really cool presents for Toby (5) & Eliot (3) at the weekend. Can't wait to give them those. Uncle's responsibility to buy cool stuff that the parents wouldn't like them to have, isn't that right?? Just kidding Sis!!

Baby Stuff!!

Greetings, once again, sorry its been a while and we have disappointed all you faithful howes-house visitors with our lack of postings.

But, believe it or not, I'm gonna try and put something on here every day in December - something of an advent countdown type thing.

Well, 1st December, a momentus day - Silje and me went and looked at push chairs...well not so much simple push chairs, more like total baby-travel solutions - things that include car seats, rain covers, feet muffs, prams, cots, nappies, baby-baths and nappy sacs all in one!! Hmmm. this is getting rather close - 5 weeks tomorrow until due date. Must get a pic of Silje's tummy and post it here for you all to see. She'll love me for that.

Anyway, Silje has just finished working (last Friday) so she has a bit more time and has been sewing curtains today. Very wifely! I've been reading/marking book reviews done by the students at Covenant College. Feel like a teacher!

More tomorrow. Hope you got an advent calendar with chocolates---i got smarties this morning in the specially-made advent mobile-type thing Silje has made! He who finds a wife finds a good thing!!

Good night.
Nick
