Once was lost but now is found!
Well, we got our luggage back around about Thursday lunchtime, so you'll be very glad to hear that we have clean clothes once again, and more importantly, we have our wedding photos which we're in Silje's case. Can't imagine if we'd lost those. Would not be good!

Enjoying being with the family in (very) sunny Bergen. It really has been warm. Not quite up to 'swimming in the fjords' temperature yet, but still pretty good. We've been at the Kristent Felleskaap Easter Conference these last days, and generally catching up with friends, and catching up on sleep.

This morning Silje & me will go to the shops (amazingly some are open for a few hours today) to spend some vouchers we got as wedding presents that we've not had opportunity to use yet. Today we will also meet the wedding photographer to sort out which photos we want to have from the selection we've been shown.

Okeydokey, that's all from the Howes-House on tour! We'll be back in Cov. on Monday. Hope you all have a wonderful Easter. Hugs & Kisses (says my wife)!!!

Lost luggage!

Well, we got up at 4am this morning, drove to Birmingham airport and jumped on our plane which left at 6.15. We made it on schedule to Amsterdam, which was v. important cos the connection to Bergen was due to leave 45mins after we landed on the 1st flight. Safely arrived in Bergen at 10.30 this morning and progressed through the airport to play everyone's favourite game - "Grab-a-bag". A load of cases went through, no sight of our...any minute now... no... not yet... nothing so far....then the door through which the bags came closed shut...no more bags...no sign of our bags! I know it happens to every traveller eventuall, but this is our first time. In our hand luggage we have next to nothing, so I've sent Silje to the shops to buy some spare pants!!! It's all extra important cos after today, NOTHING is open in Norway until next Tuesday. EVerything closes for Easter.

Anyway, we're hoping our stuff arrives on the flight that comes in this afternoon. If not, we might be a bit smelly by Monday when we fly home.
Weather here is ok, not as good as England, but it's great to be back with the Erlandsens and have some relaxing days as well. Now, I'm off to catch up on some kip, cos we only had about 3 hours in bed last night!

Enjoy your Easter.

How cold?
I can't believe it's snowing at Nettle Hill this morning! Thought it was a bit chilly-willups this morning but this is ridiculous.
Going to Norway next Wednesday which is really exciting. Have a wonderful day.

Was thinking yesterday about the church becoming the joy of the whole earth. Silje was teaching at our group meeting yesterday how we are the salt of the earth; the light of the world. Came across the verse in Isaiah today. Just had to share it - how awesome is this?

Isaiah 25:6
On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare
a feast of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine--
the best of meats and the finest of wines. [NIV]

The mountain is 'Mount Zion' - God's one true church; his covenant people. Through his church he is preparing a rich feast for all peoples. I love that! More soon...

About time for some more news....

Boy, can you believe it's April already? Me 'n' Silje have been married now for just over 3 months (can you do a 1/4 anniversary?) and enjoying life in Potters Green, especially now the weather's much better. We've discovered that we can walk from home to Nettle Hill (where we work) almost entirely along the canal, which is awesome. A great way to spend time and get a bit of exercise. Takes us exactly 1 hour door to door.

Last night Silje had a girls night at Sarah's house - Sarah was our 2nd lodger (we're on the lookout for no.3!) who moved out last w/e and got a place in Stoke (that's in Cov, not Stoke on Trent). Meanwhile, I was back at our house watching the footy with the boys. What a game! Best England match i've watched in years in terms of excitement and edge of the seats job. Before the football, 6 of us lads went out for about 45 minutes to talk to anyone we could find on the streets about Jesus. It was quality. Me & Matt found a guy at a bus stop and it was so much a God-appointment with him. He's got my number and I'm expecting him to call me to meet for coffee and talk some more. His mum & dad are Christians and i know they will have been praying for him and feel so deeply that this is his time.

Okey-dokey. That's enough for now - work to do. I've put a new page on our site which has a rough outline of our calendar so you can see a little bit of what we're up to. Only the major stuff - not things like "Tues 7th - Billy & Jane for dinner, cooked lasagne, watched TV!"

Have a wonderful day.
Eph 3:21
to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
