The big sleep...

(Picture: Bergen, Jan 05)

This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.

Today I am very grateful. What a blessed man I am! I enjoyed some good ‘boys time’ with Tias this morning, taking him along to our guys breakfast at McDonalds where he basically sat and smiled for an hour while we ate sausage and egg bagels. He is such a cool little man. I love him to bits.

Then I got home around 8am to be greeted by Eden, who is just the best little girl ever (sorry, she just is!) – she is such fun, so full of life and character. I could go on about these kids of mine for a long time… and that’s before I start on about Silje… but I don’t want to make you nauseous!

As I’m thinking about all these things this morning though, the truth is that even if I had none of these things, even if every single situation of my life was not as I would choose it, Jesus would still be enough… enough for me to be joyful always, enough for me to be living in total peace, enough for me to enjoy life to the full. That’s amazing. Help me Lord to understand the deep reality of this truth, even in the midst of feeling so blessed with all you’ve done for me.

On a “what on earth are these Howes’ up to these days?” note, we are off to Bergen tomorrow for a week… a week of sleep, coffee, family, sleep, snow, cake, coffee, sleep, and catching up with friends (did I mention sleep?).

A Christmas Thankyou

Sorry to all of you for the long time since we updated howes-house. We've been busy enjoying Christmas and New Year, having loads of fun with the kids - Eden particularly absolutely loved Christmas this year - and enjoying the company of family and friends.

Silje, Nick, Eden & Mattias would like to say a huge thank you to all of you who sent cards & presents. We love you all... and I would like to offer a deep personal thanks to those of you who furnished me with enough Port & Stilton to see me well into 2006!
