Look at the size of this thing!

Silje had her long-awaited knee operation yesteday to remove a piece of floating cartilage that has caused her knee to lock at increasingly regular intervals. After twice being in the system for the op before and twice getting pregnant (!), finally we got the call on Wednesday that there was a slot available.

All has gone well, only they found the offending article was massive (speaking relatively!) so the intended keyhole surgery turned out to be a bit bigger. They gave Silje the removed cartilage to bring home so we can show all our visitors and I thought it rude not to share with you faithful howes-house readers also!



Silje will be in bandages for 2 weeks during which she can't drive and generally needs to be very careful. Fortunately as I'm in the habit of waiting on her hand and foot anyway, this will not require any change of lifestyle for us!
